- Acquisitions
- Re-organization of Acquisitions Department to include "segregation of duties" between functions.
- Creation and implementation of new Materials Budget fund code structure for ALEPH.
- Instituted process for regular month-end reconciliations between ALEPH and PeopleSoft.
- Streamlined Acquisitions Ordering process by implementing the downloading of provisional bibliographic records from vendor sites into ALEPH.
- Established a both a book rental plan and a media rental plan to support the Shott collection.
- Serials
- Worked with Periodicals staff to begin shifting all direct periodicals over to major jobber.
- Worked with Continuations staff to begin shifting direct Continuations and Standing Orders over to major jobber.
- Towards the end of the fiscal year, an interim Serials Librarian was appointed to the department. A serials committee was also formed to evaluate all policies, processes, and procedures.
- Cataloging
- Implementation of OCLC PromptCAT services with one vendor (Blackwells.)
- Implementation of physical pre-processing with two vendors (Blackwells and Midwest.)
- Towards the end of the fiscal year, an interim Cataloging Librarian was appointed to the department. Through the librarian's efforts, a tremendous amount of cataloging backlog has been processed and released for public use.
- A cataloging committee was formed to evaluate all policies, process, and procedures. The final committee report made many recommendations for streamlining the cataloging department.
- Electronic Resources
- Established an Electronic Resources Team which works together in handling the renewal of electronic resources.
- Purchased both a Knowledge Base and Link Resolver product. These products are in the implementation process.
