Services for Library Users with Disabilities
| The North Dakota State University
Libraries are committed to supporting the information needs
of all members of the University Community. The following services
are provided to facilitate equal access to resources and services
for library users with special needs. |
Building Access
The front entrance of the Main Library
is equipped with automatic doors. The main level and second floor
are accessible using the elevator located near the reference desk.
The Architecture/Landscape Architecture Library
is located on the main floor of Ehly Hall, Room 114, and is ADA
accessible. The north entrance to Ehly Hall accesses parking for
the handicapped and will have automatic doors. Accessible restrooms
are available on the main floor.
The H.J. Klosterman Chemistry Library is located
in Ladd Hall 209. The building is accessible via the ramp near the
east door. The elevator located in the hallway between Ladd and
Dunbar may be used to get to the second floor. Restrooms in the
building are handicapped-accessible.
The Pharmacy/Nursing Library is located in
Sudro Hall, Room 135. The east entrance of Sudro Hall is equipped
with automatic doors and all floors are accessible by using the
elevator. Accessible restrooms are located on the lower level.
Materials Access
The NDSU Libraries
home page provides access to the Libraries' resources. Library information
and resources available in the computer clusters on campus are also
accessible in the Assistive Technology Lab located in room
120A of the Family Life Center.
The NDSU Libraries work with the Office
of Disability Services to provide materials in a useful format
to library users with disabilities. Library personnel will make
every effort to assist you as the need arises. However, advance
arrangements are recommended to ensure timely accommodation.
- Assistance in retrieving books and other shelved
items may be requested at the Circulation Desk.*
- Fee-based photocopy
services may be requested at the Circulation Desk.*
- Library users are encouraged to ask at the
Reference Desk for assistance in using print materials or computer
resources.*
* These services may also be requested at
the Architecture/Landscape Architecture, Chemistry, and Pharmacy/Nursing
branch libraries.
