Document Delivery Services

The NDSU Libraries Document Delivery Service is a fee-based service that eliminates the more mundane aspects of retrieving information.  Use of the service is offered to NDSU faculty, staff, and graduate students only.  The Service is managed by, and located in, the Interlibrary Loan Office in the Main Library.  Telephone 231-8885 for information. 

What can I get through the service?  

  • Books:  we retrieve and checkout circulating books for you
  • Journal Articles:  we retrieve and photocopy articles for you
  • Interlibrary Loans:  if the book or journal articles isn't at NDSU Libraries, we request the material for you.
  • Plus:  We Deliver!  We deliver any of the above requested materials to any department/office address on campus.
How do I request items using the Document Delivery Service? 

The NDSU Libraries Document Delivery Service accepts almost anything as a request:  completed forms, computer search printouts, photocopied or typed lists, copies of bibliographies, etc.

Service fees may be charged to an individual or directly to a research or departmental account.  The faculty or staff member is responsible for providing account information at the time the request for service is made, and for insuring the sufficient funds are available to cover service charges.  Failure to pay for Document Delivery Services will cause future service to be denied.  Items will be delivered to campus addresses only.

Requests which constitute a violation of copyright law will not be accepted.  The faculty or staff member must agree to accept full responsibility for the material as soon as it is delivered.  The faculty or staff member is responsible for the timely return of all borrowed materials.  Should borrowed materials be lost after delivery, the faculty or staff member will be considered the responsible party and will be billed for the lost materials.
