Health Science Library -- The 2002 Remodelling

All photos by Alan Stevens

BEFORE

Book/PC Room
Notice the high ceiling, dropdown bare lights,

four old PC's in a row, torn carpeting.

Journal/Study Room
Note the salmon-color chairs, threadbare lime green
carpet, pale green walls.

DURING

Book/PC Room being emptied.
Note the old room-dividers used at the circ desk.

Journal Room with books doubled-piled everywhere!
A real mess.

Book Room being gutted. (south and west wall).
Ugly, very ugly.

Pounding down the North Wall, to expand the
Book/PC Room.

AFTER

Hexagon table, new PC's, lower ceiling with recessed lighting. Real wood everywhere. Spacious feeling.

Journal/Study Room.
A lot more pleasing to study in now!

North into Expanded Room.
Two extra computer stations at far north end.
Comfy lounge chairs and equipment room at left.
Photo was taken before hexagon had its six PC's.

Book/PC Room
The expanded room north.
New PC's installed (and immediately being used).
Note the flat panel screens, comfy rust/sand-color chairs.

PC stations doubled, from four to eight.
Alumni Foundation grants are helping us to purchase many new Pharmacy, Nursing and Health Sciences books.
The branch library is now an inviting, relaxing, pleasant locale in which to study, read, research.
