Circulation privileges
Undergraduate students may check out books for 28
days and may renew them once. Journals may not be checked out by
undergraduates, but photocopiers are located in numerous locations
in the Main Library and in the Branch Libraries. The cost for photocopying
is 10 cents per page.
Please note: You must have your
NDSU ID to check out library materials.
Online catalog (PALS)
The NDSU Libraries have an online catalog system (PALS)
which can be used to access not only our libraries, but also over
80 other libraries in the PALS system, other North Dakota libraries
(ODN), the University of Minnesota Libraries, and other major university
libraries and systems such as CARL. In addition, you can also use
PALS to search for magazine articles in many journals. Some of the
records include the full text of the article. PALS is accessible
by using terminals in the Libraries, in the computer clusters on
campus, or from locations outside of the library through dial up
(231-8660, type PALS); Telnet (use your Plains, Badlands, or Prairie
account, select Connect to other systems, then select Go to PALS);
or the World Wide Web (http://www.lib.ndsu.nodak.edu). Stop at the
Reference desk for assistance in using some of the many other indexes
and databases available to help you find information on your topic.
