Encyclopedias
Author: Char Myhre
Encyclopedias are an excellent starting point for research - they
supply background information, introduce the vocabulary of the subject,
and often supply bibliographies of sources to consult for additional
information. General encyclopedias - which cover almost every subject
- provide broad background information. For more specific information,
consult a subject encyclopedia - click on any of the categories below.
All resources listed are in one or more of the Fargo-Moorhead Tri-College
Libraries - see the location key at the end of
the list. Older editions of some encyclopedias are housed in the library's
general collections.
