Photograph Collections
Institute for Regional Studies — North Dakota State University Library, Fargo

Welcome to the North Dakota State University Institute for Regional Studies' digital image archives, an on-line visual collection of historic images showcasing North Dakota and the Northern Great Plains. Explore the region as seen through the eyes of the people who lived here in the late 19th century and into the 20th century.

Presented is a growing sample of the more than 100,000 images that make up the photograph collections in the Institute for Regional Studies at the NDSU Library. Our goal is to make the public aware of the quality and depth of the photograph collections owned by the Institute for Regional Studies and to encourage further research on the original photographic materials. Offering this public web-based collection helps further the library's and university's missions of making unique collections and scholarship available electronically for use by students, faculty and staff, educators, and the wider community.

The images here are offered for research purposes. Individual digital copies may be requested by contacting the Institute for Regional Studies. An on-line order form is available. Questions may be addressed to our e-mail or by telephone (701-231-8914).

We have made every effort to be thorough and accurate in our describing of these images. Please contact us if you have additional information or corrections.
