Description: Exterior view of courthouse with group of 14 men (perhaps county commissioners and officers) on front-door steps. Leading to steps is sidewalk bordered by newly planted trees. The courthouse is located on Rollin Avenue, designed by F.B. Edwards and built by Alexander Moffat of Sanborn, N.D. The 2-story structure is 91 ft. long and 48 ft. wide. It has a stone foundation and the walls are red brick laid in mortar of the same color. The stair tower, at the northeast corner, has a pyramidal roof surmounted by an ornate weathervane. There are a variety of wall enrichment styles. Also showing are rain gutters, brick chimney and a metal chimney or vent. Trees were planted on the grounds in 1891.
