Biographical Note:

Putnam Hall was built in 1905-1906 as the first college library, with funding from Andrew Carnegie. It served as a library until 1950 when it became the home of the Music Department. It was re-named Putnam Hall in 1952 in honor of C.S. Putnam, long-time head of the music department. Today is it the home of the College of Business.
