Description: Early rural school house in Foster County, N.D., taken from front of school looking towards students in their seats. The teacher is seated beside her desk to left side, behind her is an organ. There are two rows of desks which are able to hold two students. Each row is made up of six desks. In these desks range different ages of students. The oldest students are sitting in the back of the room. The teacher is in the front of the room, sitting by an organ and her desk, holding a book. On her desk are books, a hat and a bell. The school house is made of wood with a heating pipe along the top of the ceiling. Most students have their books open and everyone seems to be dressed up for the photograph.
