Madalyn Kuhn, who lived
her entire life in North Dakota and Minnesota, kept a daily diary beginning in 1932 while in high school at Lisbon, N.D. to near her death in 2004. After 1936, the she moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area where
worked and married. The collection includes diaries written from 1932,
when the author was 14, through 1997. The donor generously agreed to give her diaries to the Institute
for Regional Studies under the condition that she remain anonymous while
she was still living.
