H. Elaine Lindgren did ground-breaking research into women who homesteaded in their own name in North Dakota. These document the extensive research she conducted on this topic including interviews, case files, general background research on homesteading, topical oral histories, correspondence and publicity for her book Land in Her Own Name. In addition there are research files on her article on Annie Lind, “Coal, Cuba, and Courage: The Adventuresome Spirit of Annie C. Lind”. The Rural Mystic; Work Makes Life Sweet, or Does It?, and copies of articles by Lindgren.
