The
Fargo Y.W.C.A. was organized in 1906. After locating in nine different locations it purchased
the Shields Hotel in 1942. There it headquartered until 1977. In the 1960s it changed its name to the Young
Women's Christian Organization of Fargo-Moorhead.
The
YWCA of Fargo-Moorhead records contain constitutions, minutes, correspondence, committee
records, financial reports, subject files, and scrapbooks.
Except for the scrapbook series, the remaining records are scattered
and document primarily the 1960s through 1983.
