Records, 1917-1998
1.4 linear feet (Mss 248)
 The
Fine Arts Club of Fargo, North Dakota had its origins in the Fargo Amateur
Music Club. In Spring 1911 Mrs. Frank J. Thompson assumed the
presidency of the Music Club on the condition that it be merged into a
new organization consisting of several departments. There were five
original sections representing Music, Writers (Quill), Drama Art, and Sociology
(Social Economic) with more added in following years. The Fine Arts
Club continues to function, today, at the Watson Hall location, 601 4th
Street South.
The
records consist of meeting minutes for the Board of Directors as well as
the different sections of the Fine Arts Club. There are also reports
from the treasurer and the president. Finally there are five scrapbooks,
two of which are associated with the Club as a whole.
