Fargo-Moorhead
Ministerial Association
Records, 1931-1967
.5 linear feet (Mss 71)
No
historical synopsis was available. There is no indication within the collection
when the association began, but it appears to date back at least to 1931,
when it was known as the Fargo Ministerial Association. In about 1945,
the name was changed to its present name. The organization was organized
to promote fellowship among its members, foster those movements within
the community which will make for a better civic life, and provide union
services between interested groups.
The
Fargo-Moorhead Ministerial Association records consist of meeting minutes,
correspondence, financial records and subject files. The first file contains
the association's Articles of Organization which were adopted April 13,
1931. The meeting minutes (1936-1967) appear quite complete. They document
very well the interests and activities of the organization. The correspondence
(1950-1952, 1957-1967) is very incomplete and consists mainly of incoming
and outgoing letters of the secretary. The financial records (1949-1964)
is complete, detailing the receipts and disbursements of the organization.
The subject files contain various miscellaneous files including programs
from sponsored ecumenical services and various lists of F-M churches.
