Edward P. Wells came to Jamestown, N.D. in 1878 and founded the Wells-Dickey Co., a land company. He became involved in a number of early businesses including banking, railroads, grain elevators, milling as well as political affairs. The main items in this collection are two of his scrapbooks (1883-1898) that document territorial politics, railroads and business affairs. In addition there are a number of family related documents and clippings, including reminiscences of Mrs. Wells life.
