The
federation was founded by at least 1963 as the North Dakota Federation
of Garden Clubs. Several years later they changed to the current name.
It brought together local clubs across North Dakota into a network of
information sharing and a resource for accomplishing wider scale projects.
It gave awards to local clubs in recognition of accomplishments, and
also granted scholarships.
