Prudence
Gearey Sand was a Fargo native and life-long resident. She worked as both a poet and editor, and
she had a long time association with the National League of American Pen Women. Her poetry
was published in various periodicals including The New Yorker and Atlantic
Monthly. She died on January 3, 1984.
Her papers consist, for the most part, of poetry, along with a few essays by her, and a small
collection of correspondence.
