Rodney Allen Nelson, a native of Fargo, N.D., was managing editor of the literary journal, Free Passage.  Nelson served as editor of another journal, Dakota Arts Quarterly, during 1979-1984. He is the author of several novels, including Villy Sadness, Home River, and Boots Brevik Saga.

His papers include correspondence, reviews and articles, published prose and poetry, and editorials, and translations, including original transcripts of Villy Sadness, Skogmann: A Play in Five Acts, and The Nature Society, and a manuscript of Home River.
