The Commons Club, Fargo's oldest service club, was founded by Walter L. Stockwell and professor Arland Weeks so people could discuss current events.  The club met the first and third Monday of the school term at 6 o'clock for dinner and then a guest speaker and discussion on a topic of interest.  Exclusively a male club, membership reached a peak of 50..

The collection consists of correspondence, meeting minutes (1910-1961) and subject files to include club histories, membership rolls and materials from various programs..
