Amenia School District No. 43 (Cass Country, N.D.) Records, 1911-1936 (Mss 101)
History

The Amenia School District was located around the town of Amenia in Amenia Township of Cass County, N.D. and formed in 1880.  The district number and area changed four times.  In 1878 Amenia District No. 16 was organized and included four townships.  On July 7, 1893 the district encompassed a larger region still functioning under No.16 until 1911 when District No. 28 comprised all of district No. 16 and then incorporated other local sections.  In 1924 the last change happened. It was the final switch and included all the other sections.  This was Amenia School District No. 43.  It became a consolidated school having K-12 classes.  Its last graduating senior class was in 1966.  On July 1, 1967 the school district was consolidated with Central Cass School District No. 17 at Casselton, N.D.
