Fire Underwriters Inspection Bureau
North Dakota Fire Insurance Maps, 1921-1965
475 maps (Case 8)

The fire insurance maps of the Fire Underwriters Inspection Bureau of Minneapolis, Minnesota help document the physical structures in 409 towns in North Dakota. The Bureau covered most of the smaller towns of North Dakota not covered by the much larger Sanborn Map Company. The collection consists of 475 maps primarily from the years of 1954 to 1965 (with a small number going back as far as 1921). The color-coded maps include general information on the town and data on commercial structures. Individual homes are usually not included on the maps.
