Ralph
Ward and his father-in-law, R. N. Stevens, established the Graham's Island
Ranch near Devils Lake in 1916. He was also involved with Edward
Power in the Power and Ward Livery, Feed and Sale Stable at Plaza, ND from
1909 to 1916.
Besides
being active in farming, Ward was a Republican delegate to the National
Convention at Cleveland in 1924, and chairman of the Progressive Republicans
in 1916. He also served as a director of the First State Bank in
Bowbells, ND and as a vice president of the First National Bank at Garrison,
ND.
