Database Trial: Black Studies in Video now available

Black Studies in Video is a signature Alexander Street Press collection featuring award-winning documentaries, newsreels, interviews and archival footage surveying the evolution of black culture in the United States. In partnership with California Newsreel, the database provides unique access to their African American Perspectives collection, and includes films covering history, politics, art and culture, family structure, social and economic pressures, and gender relations.

Database Trial: Cabell's Directories - through February 14, 2013

Founded to help professors, graduate students, and researchers publish their manuscripts in academic journals, Cabell Publishing, Inc. produces directories of publishing opportunities in the following areas: Accounting, Economics and Finance, Management, Marketing, Educational Curriculum and Methods, Educational Psychology and Administration, Educational Technology and Library Science, Psychology and Psychiatry, Computer Science, Health Administration, and Nursing.

GRHC documentary wins national award

The 7th documentary of the Germans from Russia series of Prairie Public Broadcasting produced in 2012, “At Home in Russia, at Home on the Prairie” in cooperation with the NDSU Libraries’ Germans from Russia Heritage Collection, has received the “Platinum Best of Show Award” from the Aurora Awards in the Historical Category. This is the highest award for a television documentary presented by the Aurora Awards and is one of twenty-seven to receive this award in 2012 in the USA.

Discovering Homelessness in Fargo-Moorhead

This Tuesday, January 29th, at 4:00 pm Laurie Baker of the Fargo-Moorhead Coalition for Homeless Persons will be at the Weber Reading Room in the NDSU Main Library to speak on the homelessness situation in the F/M area. It’s important to be mindful of those without a home or those living in poverty in our region, especially in these cold winter months. We hope you’ll be able to join us to learn what each of us can do to help.
