Display prepared by Jodi Haupt Weszner, Wishek, ND, including these wedding dresses: (l-r) -Jean Schaeffer Haupt (1957), Emma Kramer Haupt (1934) and Jodi Haupt Weszner (1982). Emma's parents were John C. and Margaret Weber Kramer who immigrated from Teplitz, Bessarabia, South Russia settling near Scottland, SD. They later resettled on a farm near Ashley, ND in 1906. John C. Kramer was four years old when he left Teplitz.

The Germans from Russia Heritage Collection, North Dakota State University Libraries, Fargo featured displays and information tables at the Wishek Centennial. Providing information for visitors were Journey to the Homeland Tour members' Duane Bittner, Jerry Fiechtner, Mayo Flegel, Carol Just Halverson, Michael Miller, Homer Rudolf and Ron Vossler.

Homer Rudolf, Richmond, VA, and Wishek native, explains use of the Glückstal Colonies Research Association publications and shows photographs. Many of the Germans from Russia in the Wishek area have ancestry to the former Black Sea German Glückstal District villages of Bergdorf, Glückstal, Kassel and Neudorf.

Carol Just Halverson, St. Louis Park, MN and LaMoure native, shows photographs of her visit to Odessa, Ukraine and the Glückstal villages taken in May, 1998.

Duane Bittner, North Highlands, CA, and Lehr native, explains location of German villages near Odessa, Ukraine on the map printed in the Wishek Centennial book.
