About the photographer for the calendar

The photographer is Mike Finneseth, a Fargo resident, who can't resist taking advantage of the family hiking trips to national parks to capture a breathtaking image of a mountain range or desert rock formation on film. Since he first stared shooting pictures more than 20 years ago, the Minot, North Dakota, native has turned his hobby into a professional venture. He displays and sells his arresting images - which range from starkly beautiful North Dakota landscapes to vivid florals - at street fairs, galleries and businesses. Finneseth uses a Mamiya 645 medium format camera and Kodak E100VS 120 film to produce photos in Fuji crystal archive professional paper. He has attended numerous photography workshops through the Rocky Mountain School of Photography to learn new techniques and perfect his work. A biology and chemistry teacher at Fargo North High School, Finneseth reside in Fargo with his wife and three sons.
