Date Treats
My father's family had very lean years in those early days. The
only baked treat they had at Christmas was Ammonium Cookies. In
later years the sweet treats included Pfeffernuesse Cookies and
Date Treats.
Pit whole dates. Stuff with 1/2 walnut meats and roll in sugar or
powdered sugar. Store in airtight container.
