A Volga-German Homecoming: 125th Jubilee Celebration

Five small towns in Ellis County and Liebenthal, located in Rush County, are celebrating their 125th anniversaries together in a week long event.	The grand marshall, Leonard Herrman, is the lead entry in the parade for the Volga-German Homecoming 125th Jubilee Celebration on 7-21-01 in Liebenthal, KS. Six Kansas towns, including Liebenthal, are celebrating their 125th anniversary.
An overflow crowd stands outside of the St. Anthony Church in Schoenchen on 7-22-01. The church celebrated 100 years in conjunction with the Volga-German Homecoming 125th Jubilee Celebration taking place in six towns in Ellis and Rush counties. Julius Dreiling, caretaker for the St. Fidelis Cemetery, uses a string trimmer on 7-24-01 at the cemetery, unique for its iron crosses, in preparation for the increased visitation expected this Friday for the Volga-German Homecoming 125th Jubilee Celebration.	Brothers Richard Dinger, 85 (back),Portland, and Herman Dinges, 70 (front), Denver, play as part of the polka band at the 125th Jubilee Celebration in Munjor Thursday afternoon. The brothers grew up in a famliy of 13 children just outside of Schoenchen.
