GCRA: Glückstal Colonies Research Association Electronic Discussion Group

A listserve for subscribers who are interested in Germans from Russia research and family research oriented specifically to the Glückstal Colonies of Bergdorf, Glückstal, Kassel, and Neudorf, and their daughter colonies. Today the former German villages of Bergdorf, Glückstal and Neudorf are located in the Trans-Dniester region of the Republic of Moldova. Today the former German village of Kassel is located in Ukraine.

The GCRA listserve provides a forum for discussion and communication among GCRA members and non-members alike who wish to exchange information and research related to their ancestry in the German-Russian villages known collectively as the Glückstal Colonies of South Russia, now Moldova (Trans-Dniester) and Ukraine.

Guidelines for sending messages:

The GCRA, self-moderated, open-subscription discussion groups provide a means of communication for persons interested in the history, culture, and folklore of the Germans from Russia.

Subscribers are expected to use restraint when replying, avoiding unsupported critical statements, unacceptable language, non-related information, and attacks on individuals.
