Dr. Albrecht was born in 1909 in Wisconsin. He received his bachelors, masters, and doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin. From 1936 to 1944, he served on the faculty of Auburn University. He joined the agronomy department at Purdue in 1944 and stayed there until accepting a position at Penn State. At Penn State he chaired the agronomy department, and became Director of Extension in 1953, where he stayed until coming to NDSU in 1962. Dr. Albrecht resigned in November 1967 to accept the position of Director of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Ibadan, Nigeria. Dr. Albrecht passed away in May of 1992.
