Charles A. Sevrinson was a native of North Dakota, was born on May 6, 1898 in Reynolds, ND. He received an advanced diploma from the State Teacher's College at Mayville in 1921, a BA from UND in 1924, and an MS from UND in 1930. In 1918-19 he was teacher of the rural school at Reynolds, ND. From 1921 to 1923 he was superintendent of Glenburn Public School, and from 1924 to 1928 he was principal of Williston Junior High School.
Sevrinson came to NDAC in 1928 as an Instructor in History and attained the rank of Assistant Professor of History in 1936. In 1938 he was made Professor of Education, Dean of Men, and Assistant to the President. From 1942 to 1944 he worked with the college's army programs. He was acting president of NDAC for the months of June and July in 1946, following the resignation of Frank Eversull. He became Dean of Students in 1948, as well as continuing to serve as Assistant to the President until 1959. From 1959 until his retirement in 1962, he served as Dean of Students and Professor of Education. In 1969, one of the first two high-rise residence halls was named in honor of Dean Sevrinson. He continued to reside in Fargo and passed away on March 17, 1986.
