Dr. White received his bachelor's in biology at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. in botany also at UNC-Chapel Hill. He joined the faculty of NDSU in 1988. He was appointed Dean of the College of Mathematics and Science in 2005 and he left in 2005 to become Dean at the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.
