Biography
 

He received a bachelor's in pharmacy from the University of Minnesota in 1976 and the Pharm.D. in 1977. He had postdoctoral training at the Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis in clinic toxicology and poison information. Prior to coming to NDSU, he had been a faculty member of the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota, as well as being Senior Associate Director and Section Manager of Pharmacy at Abbot Northwestern Hospital.

He joined the NDSU in May of 1989 as Associate Dean for Clinic Instruction, College of Pharmacy. He was also a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and served as Chair of the Department. In July of 1995 he was appointed to a one-year term as Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy. In July of 1996 he was named the Dean of the College of Pharmacy.

In 1990 he received the ASHP Foundation Literature Award for Achievement in the Professional Practice of Hospital Pharmacy. In 1991 he received Mortar Board's Preferred Professor Award, as well as becoming a Fellow of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. He received the “Boss of the Year” award from the Red River Chapter of Professional Secretaries International in 1992 and the 1992 NDSU Senior Challenge Inspirational Award.
