In 1983, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education approved a Petroleum Engineering Program at North Dakota State University . Petroleum Engineering was a subdivision of the Engineering Science Department, a division within the College of Engineering and Architecture.
The program officially began in the academic year 1986-1987. Student enrolled in the program took core courses in petroleum engineering along with courses in chemistry, engineering, geology, mathematics, and physics. Due to budget cuts the Petroleum Engineering program was discontinued in 1995. |
