Administrative History
 

Although drawing was offered as of the 1890s within mechanical arts and engineering, it wasn't until the 1921-22 bulletin that a Division of Fine Arts was established in the School of Home Economics . The department underwent a number of name changes and became the Department of Art by 1931, staying in the School /Division/ College of Home Economics until 1972. In 1972 the department became part of the College of Arts and Humanities and in 1988 the current name of Visual Arts was adopted. By 1992 Visual Arts had joined the Division of Fine Arts with the Theatre Arts Department and the Music Department.

The records consist of three folders: a fact sheet (979), curriculum revisions and courses(1980s), and a postcard (2000).
