The
Department of Agricultural Engineering first appears in the 1924-1925
Catalog within the School of Agriculture. “The department of agricultural
engineering deals with the special application of engineering
science and practice to the solution of problems in successful
agriculture.” (1924-1925 Catalog, p. 83) In the 1950-1951 Catalog,
the Department of Agricultural Engineering is added to the School
of Engineering. As of the 1998-2000 Bulletin, Agricultural Engineering
became the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
The
Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at NDSU offers
undergraduate programs in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
(ABEN) and Agricultural Systems Management (ASM) . The Agricultural
and Biosystems Engineering program is offered in the College of
Engineering and Architecture and the Agricultural Systems Management
program is offered in the College
of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources . |

The
records consist of graduate program reviews (1980, 1989), a handbook
for graduate students (1987), annual reports for agricultural
engineering (1979-1982, 1986-1996), annual reports for agricultural
and biosystems engineering (1996-97 – 2006-07), and fact
sheets: agricultural mechanization (1986), agricultural mechanization
technology (1988, 1990), and agricultural systems management (1993).
