Architecture Quonset History

The Architecture Quonset (referred to now as the North Quonset by many Architecture students) was built in 1949 as a facility for the newly completed engineering building (Dolve Hall). It contained the aeronautical engineering laboratory that possessed a wind tunnel. In 1976, students majoring in Architecture complained about the cramped conditions in the Architecture building and by 1977 the quonset was converted into additional space for the School of Architecture (Bison Briefs, October 1977). Today the Architecture Quonset remains a center of activity for Architecture students, currently located behind Dolve Hall.
