The December 1, 1962 Military Ball was held at Festival Hall.  Stan Kenton and his orchestra began the festivities with a one hour concert and dancing commenced at 9:00 pm.  One of the highlights of the Ball was when Senator Quentin N. Burdick presented a 5x8 50-star U.S. flag to President Albrecht.  The flag had flown over the U.S. Capitol for one day last summer.
