Background
“To permit the public generally to share the findings of college scientists
and schools in fascinating realms of human knowledge, NDAC is launching an
annual faculty lectureship at the college union at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13. The
committee who is arranging the first lecture has referred to the program as
‘an intellectual social hour.’ After the program, refreshments

Scope and Content
There is information on all the lectureships included in this series, as well
as an assortment of nominations sought and criteria forms. From its inception
in 1957 through 2008, twenty-nine academic departments have been represented
in the lectureships. Seven of the 50 lectureships have been presented by women.
In 1985 there were two recipients and there were no lectures in 1989 and 1993.
