From: Asako Yoshida Subject: ACRL Initiative Fund Working Group To: North Dakota - Manitoba Chapter of ACRL {ND-MB-ACRL@LISTSERV.NODAK.EDU} Dear Chapter members, A Call for Volunteers or Nominations! A great opportunity to exercise new ideas for change! At the 2001 business meeting, the proposal to set up a working group, developing and implementing an Initiative Fund project during the Year 2002-2003, was adopted. You will be able to find the criteria for the Fund ($500-$2,500 USD) at http://www.ala.org/acrl/policy/inicrit.html The group will meet in person around the end of August for a brain storming session and will then follow up the ideas generated at the meeting with e-mail exchanges. The first phase involves planning and development of a project aligned with the ACRL Strategic Plan and the Initiative Fund criteria. The deadline for project proposal to the ACRL National Office is March 15, 2002. The second phase will follow after a successful award of the fund. Karen Hunt (University of Winnipeg), Judy Rieke (University of North Dakota) and Lyle Ford (University of Manitoba) have already signed up on the project and the Chapter needs more volunteers or nominations.
