Medical Emergencies
Any employee in the vicinity is expected to assume responsibility for administering emergency procedures at the time the situation occurs.
If the person is unconscious or severely injured:
- Call (or ask someone to call) 911 for assistance. Give the location and condition of the individual. Respond to any questions from the operator.
- Stay with the person until help arrives.
- Keep the individual still. Do not move him/her.
- After the person's care has been transferred to emergency personnel, fill out the NDSU Incident Report Form and be certain others who assisted also fill out a copy. Give the report to the Administrative Assistant within 24 hours.
If the individual needs non-emergency assistance:
- Contact Campus Police (1-8998) or contact someone designated by the person to assist in seeking medical care on their own.
- Fill out the NDSU Incident Report Form and be certain others who assisted also fill out a copy. Give the report to the Administrative Assistant within 24 hours.
