Branch Libraries
Full-Time Employee Substitute Policy
When the full-time Branch Library Manager is unable
to work, the responsibility for staffing the Branch Library will
follow the sequence indicated below.
A. Unanticipated Absence
(e.g. sickness, death...)
The Branch Library Manager will notify
the supervising Librarian as soon as possible. The Librarian
will either work in the branch library personally or:
- Contact the student workers that normally
work in that branch library.
- Contact Reference Associate III.
- Contact student workers from other branch
libraries. For this purpose, lists of names, phone numbers
and schedules will be exchanged among the branch staffs.
If the supervising Librarian is unavailable,
the Branch Library Manager will contact the Associate Director
who will follow the above procedure.
After exhausting the above resources, and no one
is able to work, the branch library may be closed.
B. Anticipated Absence
(e.g. vacation, workshops, classes, meetings...)
The Branch Library Manager will clear the
anticipated absence with the supervising Librarian and inform
the supervising Librarian of arrangements.
