General Books

The General Book collection is on the second floor of the Library. Books are arranged by the Library of Congress (LC) classification system. All the call numbers start with a letter. The books are placed on the shelves with the call numbers in alphabetic order. The northeast corner is where the collection begins with the letter A. The books continue south from there and continue in a U-shaped arrangement all the way to the Z's on the west side of the second floor.

Folios

Folios are oversized books. They are too large to be kept on the shelves with the general collection. All the books in the folio section will have Folio in the call number. The Folios have their own section, which is located right next to the books with Z call numbers on the west side of the Library's second floor.

Documents

Government Documents are in the northwest corner of the second floor, just north of the Folio section. The Government Documents can be checked out like other books. The documents are arranged by the Superintendent of Documents classification system, with the letter(s) in the call numbers representing federal government agencies. The call numbers are preceded by the word Document in the online catalog.

Study Room

There is a large Study Room on the north side of the second floor. This room stores older reference books, as well as being a quiet study space. The Study Room is designed for individual studying.
