The award-winning documentary, "The Germans from Russia: Children of the Steppe, Children of the Prairie" produced by Prairie Public Television and the NDSU Libraries in 1999.

Many persons donated to this program. Major donors were Arthur E. & Cleora Reuscher Flegel, Menlo Park, CA, and Stuart & Cindy Mitzel Longtin, Fargo, ND.

A major donation to GRHC which was received in December, 2000, has been designated as matching funds to pursue with Prairie Public Television a documentary on the music of the Germans from Russia.
